Can't delete activities

Hello
When right-clicking an activity in the workflow I can't delete it. The delete key is also not working and the delete in the top ribbon is also greyed out.
What am I doing wrong?

If the workflow is running, the designer gets put in "read only" mode, so make sure the workflow is not running.
If the workflow is not running, I've seen a few times that it does not get the designed put out of read only mode, then just close the designer and open the workflow again -
@allan-zimmermann - Thank you! The workflow was not running but closing the workflow and re-opening it solved the problem.
