OpenRPA no longer starts under Windows 10 (x64) after Windows Update
I'm using OpenRPA in a VM with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, 2 cores (2,1Ghz), 8GB RAM
Only Windows own programs run in the VM and...
- Office 2019,
- FireFox 85.0.2 (64Bit)
- Google Chrome 88.0.4324.190 (64-bit)
And OpenRPA runs in the program language "German", why this information is important, more on that later.
Now I had several updates carried out yesterday:
- KB4601050 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10
- KB4601382 (OS Builds 19041.844 and 19042.844)
- KB4601319 (OS Builds 19041.804 and 19042.804)
After the system updates, OpenRPA could no longer be started.
Uninstalling and reinstalling only helped to a limited extent. This means that after the installation and successful login, OpenRPA was started successfully. However, after closing OpenRPA and restarting it, the known error was there again. OpenRPA establishes a connection to the server and then tries to start the dialog, but this fails with the message "OpenRPA no response" and the application closes again.
The temporary solution is:
Delete the contents of the folder in the directory "C: \ Users \ Username \ Documents \ OpenRPA". Started Open RPA, log in and set the system language to English. With this setting, the OpenRPA Gui is in English, but OpenRPA starts without errors.
Does anyone have an idea how I can use Open RPA with the German GUI language despite the bug?

There have been an issue with parsing the window Rectangle from the settings.json file. No problem started arising for a lot fo people a few weeks ago. Since the code affected has not been touched for many many months i suspect some window update could be at fault, but I have no proff.
My code, how ever, did also have a bug, (It was force parsing the Rectangle in English formatting ) this, has now been fixed in the latest version ( 1.2.19 )
Could you please try and upgrade and see if the issue has been solved by updating ?
with version 1.2.18 the error still existed, today I installed version 1.2.19 and now OpenRPA works again with the German GUI language.
Perfect! Thank you for your quick response.
